About the Intentwise AI Native Software Engineer role
The Intentwise AI Native Software Engineer role is built around a new way of working: instead of writing every line of code by hand, you guide AI tools through the software development lifecycle, validate what they produce, and take ownership of the code that ships to production.
Intentwise builds commerce intelligence, observability and AI-driven retail media tools for some of the world’s leading brands and agencies, so this role sits at the intersection of software engineering and applied AI.
Key responsibilities
- Build applications, APIs, integrations, AI agents and data workflows.
- Use AI tools for coding, testing, debugging, refactoring and documentation.
- Review AI-generated code for quality, security, performance and maintainability.
- Write unit, integration, regression and end-to-end tests.
- Participate in code reviews and explain your technical decisions to the team.
Intentwise AI Native Software Engineer – eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the Intentwise AI Native Software Engineer role, candidates should meet:
- Engineering degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related field.
- 0 to 2 years of software development experience – strong recent graduates may also apply.
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI coding tools.
- Strong understanding of programming, APIs, databases, Git and testing.
- Experience with Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, C#, Go, or Kotlin.
- Participation in an AI hackathon (internal or external) is a plus – be ready to talk about it.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with LLM APIs and familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol).
- Exposure to AI agents, tool calling, and structured outputs.
- Frontend or backend experience with React, Next.js, Node.js, or FastAPI.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms and Docker.
- Independently built products or side projects – link them in your application.
