Role Overview – R&D Engineer (Cyber Security)

Reporting to the R&D Team Lead, you will support the strategic technology direction by identifying, proposing and implementing innovative security technology and solutions. You will assist the Research and Development team with security assessments of industrial products – from embedded devices to cloud platforms – while staying abreast of the state of the art in cyber security.

Key Responsibilities

• Security Testing: Perform security and network robustness assessment testing of embedded devices, host-based industrial software, web applications, APIs and mobile apps.
• Analysis & Reporting: Conduct in-depth analysis of results and write technical reports, providing fixes and suggestions to development teams.
• Wireless Security: Test Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices for security vulnerabilities and evaluate new testing methodologies.
• Protocol & Cloud Security: Research the security of protocols, interfaces and technologies used for cloud communication and API security.
• Automation: Build Python-based automation (Flask/Django, Selenium, PyTest) and integrate security tools into build pipelines (Azure DevOps).
• Collaboration: Partner with Dev, QA, product managers and other stakeholders across the organisation.
