About the GE HealthCare Data Science Specialist role
The GE HealthCare Data Science Specialist role sits inside GE HealthCare’s AI-enabled Systems Engineering organization, which is transforming healthcare product development using Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science and Generative AI.
You will work on large-scale engineering, quality and product lifecycle datasets, alongside Systems Engineers, AI Scientists, Software Engineers and Verification & Validation Engineers, to build the next generation of AI-powered engineering workflows for healthcare technology.
Key responsibilities
- Develop AI, machine learning and analytics solutions for engineering and business challenges.
- Analyse structured and unstructured data from requirements, defects, test results and quality systems.
- Perform exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis and feature engineering.
- Build, evaluate and deploy ML models for predictive, descriptive and generative AI use cases.
- Develop RAG, Agentic AI and LLM-based applications for engineering knowledge management.
- Create dashboards, visualizations and technical documentation of model performance.
GE HealthCare Data Science Specialist – eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the GE HealthCare Data Science Specialist role, candidates should meet:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, ML, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in AI, Data Science, Software Engineering or Analytics.
- Strong programming skills in Python, with Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Exposure to Generative AI / LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex or Azure OpenAI APIs.
- Understanding of ML fundamentals, statistics, data structures, algorithms and SQL.
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Internship or project experience in AI, ML, Data Science or Software Development.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP, and version control (Git).
- Exposure to healthcare, medical devices, quality systems, or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau or similar visualization tools.
