About Generation Cognizant

Cognizant, a global IT services leader with 340,000+ employees, runs its entire campus and off-campus fresher intake through the GenC umbrella. What makes the program stand out in 2026 is scale and AI focus – the company has publicly targeted ~25,000 fresher hires with training pathways built around AI-augmented delivery roles.

GenC vs GenC Next vs GenC Elevate – Which Track Fits You?

  • GenC: The broadest entry track for IT service roles – testing covers aptitude, basic programming and communication. Best for any-degree candidates and those newer to coding.
  • GenC Next: Developer-focused track with deeper technical assessment (DSA, web technologies, SQL). Higher package, tougher bar.
  • GenC Elevate: For confident coders – an advanced coding assessment lifts you into the ₹4.5–5.4 LPA band. You can be considered across tracks based on performance.

Cognizant GenC Exam Pattern

  • Aptitude & Reasoning: Quantitative, logical and verbal sections with strict sectional timing.
  • Automata / Coding: 1–2 programming problems for Next/Elevate tracks; language choice includes C, C++, Java and Python.
  • Communication Assessment: SVAR-style spoken English test – underestimated and heavily eliminative.
  • Interview: Combined technical + HR discussion covering basics, projects and flexibility on location/shifts.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Qualification: BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech for engineering tracks; BCA, BSc, BA, BCom, BBA, BVoc, BMS and similar 3-year degrees are eligible for GenC non-engineering intakes.
  • Batch: 2025 passouts and 2026 graduating students (per the current cycle’s notification).
  • Academics: Typically 60%/6.0 CGPA with no active backlogs at onboarding.

How to Apply for Cognizant GenC

  1. Register free on Cognizant’s official GenC page or through your college’s Superset drive link.
  2. Complete your Superset profile carefully – academic mismatches stall offers at verification.
  3. Pick your track honestly: a strong GenC offer beats a failed Elevate attempt (cross-consideration happens, but preparation should match the track).
  4. Track your application status inside Superset; shortlists and test invites arrive by email.
  5. Practise the communication round – rehearse your self introduction aloud daily.

Frequently Asked Questions – Cognizant GenC

Q1. What is the salary in Cognizant GenC?

Per recent cycles: standard GenC around 4–4.5 LPA, GenC Elevate roughly 4.5–5.4 LPA, and GenC Next higher for developer roles. Each cycle’s official notification confirms exact numbers.

Q2. Can non-engineering students apply?

Yes – BCA, BSc, BA, BCom, BBA, BVoc, BMS and similar 3-year full-time graduates are eligible for GenC non-engineering intakes, one of the few large programs open to any-degree freshers.

Q3. Is the registration free?

Completely free through Superset and the Cognizant careers portal. Any “registration fee” demand is a scam.

Q4. What is the difference between GenC and GenC Elevate?

GenC is the standard IT-role track with basic programming assessment; Elevate adds an advanced coding test and pays a higher band. Strong coders should attempt Elevate – performance-based cross-consideration protects you.

The FY26–27 cycle targets 2025 passouts and the 2026 graduating batch. Follow this hub or our Telegram channel – we post each window the day it opens.
